Dear Family and Friends,

Yes, another guy gave his life to the Lord last month. While I was holding up my sign and passing tracts out across from Brigham Young's house, a guy named Chris came by. He was a salesman from Idaho, and told me that he was losing his job that day. He said that "something" told him to come over and talk with me. Chris had grown up Catholic and then Assembly of God. He had also spent some time in jail where the chaplain would preach the gospel to him. I asked him if he had ever responded to the gospel message by repenting of all his sins, and asking Christ to save and change him. He told me he never had. After a while I told him quite confidently (which was sort of weird for me) that God had been protecting and preparing him for this day when he would be drawn to talk to me. I told Chris that "today" was his day to commit himself to Christ. I told Chris that though he'd be losing his job, and in fact his whole life, this day he would be receiving a whole new life. I then led him in a prayer of repentance and receiving of Christ as Lord and Savior. As I was going through a time of sharing with him what had just happened and how to grow in his new faith, another guy named Allen just happened to come along and told us how he had just become a Christian a year or two ago. Allen just happened to have his Halley's Bible Handbook that was given to him when he became a Christian, and he gave it to Chris as a gift. Allen told Chris how much it had helped him understand God's Word. We all prayed for each other, and while I was doing this, someone drove by screaming at us and throwing something out of the car that hit Chris in the back. It was something small and didn't hurt Chris at all, but it made me think how steamed Satan was about losing another!

Speaking of something being thrown out of a car, this last month I've had probably about five people spit out of their cars at me. None of them hit me, but one guy rode by on a bike, and he didn't miss when he spit at me! Other people have thrown large convenience store cups at me when they have driven by (one had liquid in it, but both missed me), and another girl threw a bread roll at me (which missed as well). Many scream things at me like, "Get a job!", and many others will give me the middle finger. Occasionally someone will show her approval by honking and giving me a thumb's up sign. This all comes simply from standing on a busy corner with a provoking sign ("MormonChallenge.com" or "PerfectRighteousness.com"). I don't even have to say anything.

Satan hates truth since God is the truth, and Satan especially hates it when truth is laid out for all to see. He knows that some who God is working on will be open to it, and will ultimately be benefited by it.

One night I ran into Ed and Lois Smart coming out of the Joseph Smith Memorial building. I was walking to the South Gate of Temple Square with my sign. We all stopped and I told them how happy I was for them, and that I was totally praying for them. Then I asked them if they'd like one of my "Temple Square Visitor's Guides", and told them that I was a Christian Missionary. They actually took it, so pray they'll read it and get saved.

One other night I went out in front of the South Gate, and was talking with this LDS guy. A group of Christians came up, and asked me if the info in the tract is really what LDS believe. I told them they can look up all the documentation for themselves, but the LDS guy said, "It's rubbish"! So one of the Christian guys in the group opened up the tract, and asked this LDS guy if he really believed God the Father has a wife. The LDS guy totally hesitated, and the Christian guy said to me, "Proves your point. It isn't rubbish." The LDS guy left totally frustrated. This is one of the very important reasons why we need more Christians doing ministry around the Salt Lake Temple! So many Christians go into Temple Square not having a clue as to what Mormonism is all about. Without someone outside warning them of the danger, many of them become easy prey for the LDS Church.

Blessed for being reviled and persecuted (Mt. 5:10-12),

****MAILBAG****

I think your ministry is very valuable and, while it is not what I was called to do, I affirm you in your call, Rob. And I'm glad you're faithfully doing it.

Hi Rob, You made me chuckle. I am so proud of you and your ministry. That probably isn't the right word for it, but you bless my soul. I enjoy reading the e-mails.

Hi Rob, Just read the E-Mails concerning the obnoxious street preachers, & wanted to say that I appreciated your response & your wisdom on the matter. I believe the strategy you have suggested is the route to go. Besides, more than once in my lifetime, I've seen a person come & complain to a "meeker" street preacher about the harsher one, & proceed to pour out their "guts" to him, or her. The Word of the Lord preached does not return void, & tends to "stir up" the spiritual realm. It reminds me of kind of a spiritual "Good Cop, Bad Cop" phenomenon. Bottom line is, instead of quieter street preachers being horribly distressed over the "loud mouths," they can rest in the fact that God can use it all together, "for good!" Remember, we are a "delivery system" for the gospel, & it can be delivered in different fashions. Love ya Rob, keep up the good work!

Rob, We got your letter. Good luck with all that you have been doing over there. [We] will be praying for you and that Jesus' love will be shown.

Great info Rob, thanks for sharing!

Rob, Great newsletter!!! Keep on keeping on, in due season we shall reap if we faint not.

Rob, We wish we could do more for you. Our view is that it's a huge privilege to support your ministry out there.

Hey Rob, ...I let [my friend] on my team read your newsletter and she was like "they threw DOG TREATS at him?!?" And also I sent it to a guy that is... in Spain who thinks he wants to join Crusade staff in Utah.
